Introduction to Manual Handling. Manual handling law and approved guidance. Employers and employee duties. Physical causes of musculoskeletal injuries. Manual Handling risk Assessment. Factors to be considered when risk assessing Manual Handling. The Anatomy of the Spine and body mechanics

The Task, Individual, Load and the Environment (TILE). Avoidance of manual handling. Effective movement principle and principles of leverage Route planning and correct feet positioning. Load assessments, (grip etc) and positioning before smooth lifting.
Types of mechanical aids good lifting and manual handling techniques Manual handling risk assessment and record keeping and review. Manual Handling practical, and effects of poor lifting techniques. Benefits of manual handling.

This Course is booked for a maximum of twelve candidates, or for Individual booking for designated venue training

Course Length
Manual Handling training course is taught for 3-4 hours. However, there are breaks between sessions to allow for eating and rests.

Certificate and Validity
The Manual Handling of Inanimate Objects training certificate lasts for 24 months (2 years). However, you will need to re-enrol for a refresher training course to maintain validity.

Mood of Delivery
Most of our course’s sessions are delivered in-house and we do send the trainer to your premises for a class-room session for group of up to 12 delegates. We do require that you prepare a classroom setting or a least a makeshift one, and a display screen.
More so, we do have them for individuals on arranged dates for a group of 12 individual or more at a designated venue in Hertfordshire. If you are registering this course, you may choose the option for designated venue.
